To corroborate the need for quality education and access to it in Nigeria, business mogul, Herbert Wigwe who is also the CEO of Access Bank Plc has announced that he will be investing a sum of $500million in building a university that can allow students to learn various skills ranging from finance to technology. According to the information gathered from different sources, the idea is to create a channel that produces graduates who would become leaders and preserve the culture of the country.

When Wigwe talked to Vanguard, he also stated that part of the goal at the university was to alter Africa's future path by introducing a curriculum that is both globally relevant and locally impactful. He aimed to encourage teaching using innovative methods, with an expert faculty, to match the standards of the world's most prestigious universities.

He went on to reveal that the Wigwe University project means a lot to him and is an opportunity to give back to society which is why only quality education that would impact the development of the country will be provided.

Furthermore, he mentioned that "Wigwe University" is set to start operating in September 2024, located in Isiokpo, Rivers State, Nigeria. It will cater to students looking for a top-notch education.

The university plans to provide various programs through four main colleges: Management and Social Sciences, Art, Science and Computing, and Engineering. This means that students interested in any of these fields can apply to the school next year.
