There are several job openings for the year 2024 which means that if you have applied for any right, you should be due for interviews early in the year. Most of the time, you must have heard that it can take a chatty course; while the interviewer says certain things during the interview, you are expected to reply too and this is where much ''carefulness" must be applied. If you need to know, there are sentences you should not make during an interview and questions that would not seem right. Want to know about them? Read on!
What do you do here?
You will be most likely asked if you have any questions. While searching for questions or moving towards knowing what the organization does, never ask "What do you do here?" No matter how comfortable the interviewer must have made you feel, don't do it. The moment you do this, the impression you are giving to the interviewer is that you have not done the necessary research, you are nonchalant and only concerned about the salary. It may also sell you off as someone who is not smart. So, don't do it.
It's in my CV
It's an interview and the interviewer can ask any question they want whether it's in the CV or not. If you are asked any question that is already in your CV, best believe they already know, they just need you to say it yourself and this should never be a problem. The interviewer may be looking to see something else which could be your confidence or communication skills. Never shut them out by saying "It's in my CV."
Thank you Guys
It's good that you want to sound cool but remember that it is a professional setting and you are expected to keep it professional from the beginning of your interview till the end. Don't assume that your interviewer(s) don't have a problem with you calling them "Guys". To be on the safer side, stop at " Thank you" or "Thank you so much" because yoh really can't address them as your guys.
I don't know
Yes, it is possible to not know the answer to a question. You must have prepared enough but the interviewer decides to go a separate route. Instead of blankly saying "I don't know", you can say that you are not exactly familiar with what was asked but this is what you think. You may have not given an accurate answer but it will be recorded that you shared your idea about what you think it is or should be. Also, let the interviewer know that you would like to learn from other information they have.
Negative Comments about your former workplace
Some people leave their former workplace because they find it toxic. If this is you, never say anything of such whenever you are interviewing for a new job. Don't even make comments that will give your interviewer the impression that your previous office was a bad one. This can create a bad impression of you and even show a lack of professionalism. Leave what has happened and move on to even better things, and be positive all through.
Your performance during a job interview session is a strong determinant of whether you will get the job or not. So, you want to do it right.
