While Jamb Candidates Prepare to Write UTME, FG Probes More Nigerian Universities for Degree Racketeering. See Full list

The Federal Government of Nigeria has confirmed that it would probe more and more Nigerian Universities until it gets to the root of the fake degree certificate matter.

The new information has thrown potential jamb candidates into confusion as some of them have shared how skeptical they have been since the saga began. This is mostly associated with their higher institution of choice as they want to be sure that they are making the best decision.

The committee set up to handle investigations for this case includes Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, the Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Jamila Bio-Ibrahim, the Minister of Youths, and Yusuf Tuggar, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, and many others.

According to the committee's main directive, their task involves evaluating private universities founded within the past 15 years. This evaluation entails assessing their infrastructure, management frameworks, financial support for programs, and the composition of their staff, which includes full-time, contract, adjunct, visiting, and other personnel.

The National Universities Commission (NUC) regularly performs accreditation assessments, but this extra examination is to guarantee compliance with particular standards. The inquiry focuses on 147 private universities operating in Nigeria, 107 of which were established in the past 15 years. Below is the full list of these 107 universities that the federal government will investigate.
