KPMG is a multinational body of professionals that provides diverse accounting services. The firm with recognition in over 143 countries including Nigeria was formed in I987 to help organizations reduce risk and enjoy sustainable opportunities.
The founders of KPMG
KPMG is a firm that encompasses the names of its founders. The organization was created as a result of the brilliant idea of four people:
Piet Klynveld - The K in KPMG
William Barclay Peat - The P in KPMG
James Marwick - The M in KPMG
Reinhard Goerdeler - The G in KPMG
These four individuals merged in 1987 and made it known to the public that their alliance will be called KPMG (Klynveld Peat Marwick Goerdeler). That was the beginning of a great success for the firm it was recorded as the largest accounting business merger in the 90s.
