Recently, in Nigeria, several banks, including FirstBank of Nigeria which was established in 1894 have been putting up opportunities for fresh graduates who would love to work within the different arms of the financial organization. The purpose of hiring these graduate trainees is to help them gain practical experience in the field of finance, develop essential skills, and learn on the job by visiting various departments of the organization. These programs prepare the selected graduates for a career in the banking and finance sector.
The First Bank Graduate Trainee Program
Graduate Trainee Programs were not really a thing for banks as far back as the tenure of the first governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria - Roy Pentelow Fenton. But now, the development and expansion of Graduate Trainees have become so necessary and common that the First Bank of Nigeria, like other banks, looks out for young people who can do the job and bring a change to the banking sector.
Although the First Bank of Nigeria is currently not recruiting for its graduate trainee program, the opportunity was offered about a few months ago on FBNQuest, the investment banking and asset management office of the First Bank of Nigeria Holdings Plc.
However, this doesn't imply that there will be no more opportunities; there are still more to come and it is just important that you be alert whenever there is another.
