Minimum application requirements for jobs keeps changing year in year out as techology develops more and the world evolves. It is safe to say that what is obtaineable while applying for a job 5 years ago may not be necessary for a job application in 2022. In this article, we will be taking a critical look at How many job experiences should you put on your resume in 2002.
How many job experiences should you put on your resume in 2002
You should endeavour to tailor your your job application CV to the job you are applying for. List every job you've ever held that is relevant to the one you're looking for. On a CV, you typically list 2-4 jobs, but the number might vary depending on your degree of experience. Not every job you've ever held needs to be listed on your resume. Too many jobs may appear impressive, yet they can reveal the following to recruiters that your abilities have become outdated, especially if you're seeking for an entry-level position, and you're a job hopper. It is advisable to submit a brief, orderly resume that is simple to peruse quickly as it is preferred by hiring managers. As a result, state the jobs you've done in the same industry or in positions that required similar talents a higher ranking on your resume in order of importance
List your roles on your CV if you’ve had many previous jobs
You can still fit all of your relevant work experience into a brief CV even if you have a ton of it. This is how:
Write a two-page resume
Although one-page resumes are usually the ideal because they give the most succinct overview of your qualifications, if you're an experienced job seeker with 10+ years of work history and are applying to senior or management posts, you can produce a two-page resume. You can space out the job entries on two pages. Your resume won't be easy to read if you try to fit too many jobs on one page. Just make sure there is enough data to occupy both pages. To create a good first impression, provide all necessary information on the first page, such as recent employment. For the second page of your resume, you can put less significant areas like your schooling or list of credentials.
Combine relevant experience
To reduce space, group comparable occupations under one entry in the work history section of your resume. For instance, group all three of your customer service positions under one category as follows:
EXAMPLE:
CUSTOMER SERVICE
- Sales Assistant, MTN Nigeria, August 2019–May 2021
- Call Center Agent, Flutterwave, July 2017 –June 2019
- Sales Intern, Wakanow, April 2016–February 2017
Add an additional experience section
Your employment history may become void if you remove jobs from your resume. Hiring managers look out for long periods of inactivity on resumes since it may indicate that your abilities are out-of-date or that you were fired and had problems re-entering the workforce. Add a second experience section to your resume as a clever method to explain employment gaps. You can combine unrelated employment in a separate experience area, and you can also include any unpaid labor you've done.
FOR EXAMPLE:
ADDITIONAL EXPERIENCE
- Lab Technician, Omega Golden Fertility , 01–09/2020: Analyzed medical samples
- Intern, Dangote Refinery, 03/2017–07/2018: Researched and assisted senior lab technicians
