Federal Government set to hire 37 Community Managers across all States

To start off the 3MTT (3 million Technical Talent) program this year, the Federal Ministry of Communications, innovations, and Digital Economy has announced that it will be hiring 37 learning community managers across all states in Nigeria. The Ministry tweeted that the essence of this program is to coordinate the activities of all communities within each state. 

The Government stated that the 3MTT learning community brings together different learners who will have access to rich content and a whole supportive network. It also added that interested individuals could register or apply at b.link/3MTT-CM

Taking a good look at the job description on the registration page, the government expects individuals who get selected for the role is perform a couple of job functions which include: 

  • Leading, building, and maintaining S3MTT’s community of technical talent and its initiatives within your state (internally and externally) and scalable programs that attract a broad, diverse group of aspiring Nigerian Technologists and prepare them for the tech workforce as well as other opportunities in the digital economy in your state.

  • Leading the community and owning the brand of 3MTT in your state to animate existing and attract new community members and fellows to the program. Build and own state-specific and regional strategy, outreach, and messaging for the community at large.

  • Building models, metrics of success, and growth strategies, ensuring long-term success and growth of the 3MTT community within your state.

  • Supporting the team to develop and track metrics for measuring learner progress and selection effectiveness.

  • Overseeing the sourcing of volunteer facilitators, experts, venues, hubs, and other stakeholders to host meetups and other events in Nigeria. 

The positions are available for mid-level experienced people who are looking to work full-time. 

What is required of you to be fit for this position? 

  • Minimum of 3 to 4 years of managerial experience coupled with strong leadership abilities.

  •  Familiarity with the Nigerian developer ecosystem would be advantageous (additional experience in community management would also be beneficial). 

  • Proficiency in utilizing technology and establishing scalable systems, programs, and teams while upholding quality standards.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, along with great listening skills. 

  • Self-motivated and capable of completing tasks independently with minimal oversight. 

  • Have a keen eye for detail and organizational skills.

  • Proficient in building strong professional relationships. 

  • Demonstrated initiative and perseverance, actively seeking innovative solutions to overcome challenges.
