Elon Musk And Twitter: More Staffs Laid Off By Twitter

News about Elon Musk has been on for some weeks following the layoff of some of his workers on Twitter. Many people have criticized his actions in light of his decision to fire his employees. Reports have it that he fired anywhere from 4,400 to 5,500 workers, which is more than 50% of his employees.

It was gathered that Elon Musk and Twitter didn't let the people affected know about their job cuts. They only noticed that their accounts had been deactivated from Twitter's system, and got to know from an internal mail sent to some contractors. They didn't receive the mail until they saw themselves deactivated from Twitter's system.

Elon Musk and Twitter said that the job cut is a part of its "savings and reprioritization exercise." Musk made the sacked employees understand they only have till Monday, November 14th to finally vacate the organization.

Elon Musk on Twitter Layoffs

The layoffs by Elon Musk and Twitter continue.

Additionally, according to Casey Newton, the contractors were simply denied access to Slack and email rather than being warned.

According to Newton's tweet, the cuts "were projected to have a large impact on content moderation and the basic infrastructure services that keep the site up and operating." Later, Axios reported that a sizable number of contractors, including those involved in content moderation, had been fired by Twitter.

Elon Musk's leadership over the microblogging platform has been characterized by chaos, hurried decisions, and layoffs. Furthermore, even though they are never enjoyable or appreciated, layoffs have been particularly difficult for Twitter staff. After firing approximately half of its full-time staff, the business reportedly requested some of them to return because business wasn't doing well without them. All communications were conducted through impersonal, automated emails. The company's employees have complained that the office morale is terrible.

Some Twitter executives have either quit or been dismissed since Elon Musk took over. It's probable that more workers will be let go due to the firm's in-person work need. Only "special people" are permitted to work remotely, according to a transcript of a Q&A session between Musk and staffers. In essence, Elon Musk remarked, "if you have the ability to show up in an office and you do not show up at the workplace, resignation accepted."

The reason for Twitter's staff reduction

According to a tweet by Tesla CEO, Elon Musk. He said "Regarding Twitter's reduction in force, unfortunately there is no choice when the company is losing over $4M/day. Everyone exited was offered 3 months of severance, which is 50% more than legally required."

A request for comment from Twitter was not immediately answered. The company's communications division is no longer in operation. The Elon Musk news has made people criticize him for sacking their workers because of the fear of the increase in inflation and recession.

Recent statement made by Elon Musk

Elon Musk has said he has so much work at his disposal. This he said days after he sacked more than half of his employees in sectors (including content moderation and engineering). The new owner of the social media site and CEO of Tesla stated at the B20 business leaders' summit in Bal that "my workload has just grown quite a lot," ostensibly alluding to his $44 billion (£37 billion) purchase of the platform on October 27.

“I mean, oh, man. I have too much work on my plate, that is for sure,” he added, speaking via video link.

After purchasing Twitter, he was asked what it was like to be a "media mogul,". He responded, "It is a medium as opposed to media". However, there is no way to guarantee everyone's happiness.

Musk's remarks on Monday came as reports broke over the weekend that 4,400 of Twitter's 5,500 contract workers had been affected by a new round of layoffs, according to Casey Newton, publisher of the tech weekly Platformer.
