  • As an Upper Primary Teacher, you will be responsible for educating students in key subjects such as Mathematics, English Language, Science, Social Studies, and other core curriculum areas.
  • You will foster an engaging learning environment that encourages curiosity, creativity, and academic achievement.
  • Your role will include lesson planning, classroom management, student assessment, and collaborating with colleagues and parents to ensure the holistic development of each child.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality lessons in line with the Nigerian curriculum.
  • Use a variety of teaching methods and strategies to engage students and accommodate different learning styles.
  • Assess and monitor students' progress through regular assignments, tests, and observations.
  • Maintain a positive classroom environment that promotes discipline and respect.
  • Provide timely feedback to students on their academic performance and personal development.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate records of student progress and attendance.
  • Collaborate with other teachers to create a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
  • Organize extracurricular activities and contribute to school events as required.
  • Communicate regularly with parents or guardians about student progress and well-being.
  • Maintain professional development through ongoing training and learning.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Education (B.Ed), Primary Education, or related field.
  • A teaching qualification (e.g., NCE, PGDE) is a plus.
  • At least 2-3 years of teaching experience, preferably in upper primary school grades.
  • Strong knowledge of the Nigerian and British curriculum and educational frameworks.
  • Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to handle diverse classroom settings.
  • Proficient in the use of educational technology to enhance teaching and learning.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Strong organizational skills, including the ability to plan, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
  • Passion for teaching and helping students succeed academically and personally.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability to diverse classroom challenges.

  • Must have a clear criminal background check and be able to provide references.
  • A positive, enthusiastic, and flexible attitude towards teaching and school life.
