Job Description

A truck mechanic with experience in DAF truck repairs plays a crucial role in maintaining and repairing heavy vehicles to ensure their optimal performance.

Responsibilities
Diagnostics and Troubleshooting:

Use specialized diagnostic tools and software to identify mechanical, electrical, and electronic issues in DAF trucks.
Interpret fault codes and perform system analyses to pinpoint problems.

Maintenance and Repairs:

Conduct regular preventive maintenance, including oil changes, filter replacements, and brake inspections.
Repair or replace faulty components like engines, transmissions, suspension systems, and brake systems.
Ensure compliance with manufacturer specifications for DAF trucks.

Electrical and Electronic Systems:

Work with advanced electrical systems, including CAN-bus networks and ECU systems.
Diagnose and repair wiring, sensors, and control modules specific to DAF trucks.

Engine and Drivetrain:

Perform overhauls and repairs on engines, gearboxes, and differentials.
Familiarity with DAF's PACCAR engines and emission control systems like SCR and EGR.

Safety and Compliance:

Documentation and Reporting

Maintain accurate service records, including parts used and work completed.
Communicate effectively with customers or fleet managers about repairs and future maintenance needs.
