Howbury School is a Creche, Nursery and Primary School with campuses in Maryland, Lagos and Ota, Ogun State. The Schools are located in very serene environment. We are a family oriented school - something that will become apparent when you visit. We cater for children from ages 3 months to 11 years.
We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Teaching Assistant
Location: Lagos
Responsibilities
- Assist the classroom teacher in delivering lessons and managing classroom activities.
- Provide one-on-one or small group support to students who may need extra help with their learning.
- Help prepare and organize classroom materials and resources for lessons and activities.
- Supervise students during lessons, recess, and other school activities to ensure a safe and supportive environment.
- Assist with the assessment and recording of student progress, and provide feedback to the teacher.
- Help manage classroom behavior and maintain a positive and inclusive atmosphere.
- Support students with special educational needs, ensuring they have the resources and assistance needed to succeed.
- Participate in school events, meetings, and professional development opportunities as required.
Qualifications and Experience
- A minimum of an SSCE / WAEC or equivalent; additional training or certification in education is a plus.
- Previous experience working with children, preferably in an educational setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in supporting children's learning and development.
- Basic understanding of classroom management techniques and child development.
