Job Summary
- We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sponsorship and Business Development Manager to join our team.
- The ideal candidate will have a strong network of potential sponsors, such as banks, drinks companies, FinTech, and others.
- This role requires someone who can effectively package our events into sponsorable properties, maintain relationships, and secure funding for the company’s range of events.
Responsibilities
Sponsorship Acquisition:
- Package events into attractive sponsorship opportunities.
- Create compelling sponsorship proposals and presentations.
- Identify and target potential sponsors from relevant industries.
Outreach and Networking:
- Conduct regular outreach to potential sponsors and follow up on leads.
- Build and maintain relationships with existing and potential sponsors.
- Attend industry events and network to build new relationships.
- Regularly update and manage the CRM system to track sponsorship leads, relationships, and event funding status.
Event Coordination:
- Collaborate with the events team to ensure sponsor requirements are met.
- Coordinate with sponsors to ensure successful event execution as needed.
Reporting and Analysis:
- Provide updates to sponsors on event progress and outcomes.
- Track and report on sponsorship acquisition and retention metrics.
- Provide feedback and insights on sponsorship strategies and performance.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in sponsorship sales, business development, or a related role.
- Proven track record of securing sponsorships in the creative, culture, or events space.
- Strong network of potential sponsors, particularly in banks, drinks companies, and fintech startups.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Ability to manage CRM and build new relationships.
- Highly organized with strong project management skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
- Passion for African culture, fashion, art, and design is a plus.
