Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Accurately dispense prescribed medications to patients.
- Review prescriptions for accuracy and ensure compatibility with patient health conditions.
- Counsel patients on medication use, side effects, and storage.
- Maintain an adequate stock of medications and other pharmaceutical supplies.
- Conduct regular inventory checks and reorder items as necessary.
- Ensure the proper storage of medications in compliance with regulations.
- Adhere to all pharmaceutical regulations and laws.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records for prescriptions, inventory, and patient interactions.
- Prepare and submit required reports to regulatory authorities.
- Provide professional advice on drug interactions and contraindications.
- Address customer inquiries and resolve complaints promptly.
- Build relationships with healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care.
- Assist in developing and implementing policies and procedures for the pharmacy
- Train and supervise pharmacy technicians and assistants.
- Ensure the pharmacy environment is clean, safe, and conducive for patients.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy (B.Pharm) or Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D).
- Licensed by the Pharmacists Council of Nigeria (PCN).
- Minimum of 2 years in a retail or hospital pharmacy (specific experience optional).
- Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical standards and drug regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in using pharmacy management software.
- Attention to detail and organizational skills.
