Responsibilities:

Consulting with patients and other service users to ensure the most appropriate laboratory investigations are undertaken or advised for appropriate referral, where necessary.
Involving in processing/investigations of clinical samples for the diagnosis of diseases, reporting appropriately, and issuing reports to service users in a timely manner.
Performing routine internal and external quality controls of laboratory reagents, kits, equipment, etc
Participating in preparing appropriate standard operating procedures (SOP) and other relevant service-related documentation.
Supervising other Junior laboratory staff, to ensure competency, efficiency, and personal development, so as to guarantee career progress and quality of laboratory services.
Actively involved in overseeing and supervising the appointed staff for sales records, incomes, and expenditures for the purpose of monthly auditing by an appointed Auditor/Financial Director

Requirements:

Minimum of BMLS (or equivalent) and must possess a 2024 professional practice license issued by the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN) and be willing to renew such annual license in subsequent years.
The ability to practice in a multidisciplinary medical laboratory, both independently and within a team is required.
Leadership quality and the capability to supervise junior staff, working as an essential team player to strengthen the laboratory team, is highly desirable while accountable to the Directors/Managers.
Must be of good character, honest person, friendly, and a good communicator, that can guarantee efficient communication with patients and other service users.

Temporal Accommodation:

There are temporal accommodations available for staffwishing to occasionally sleep-over, to reduce the cost of transportation.
Please note that these are not permanent accommodations, as every staff isentitled to use them, especially for on-duty related facilities.
