Job Description

  • This role is responsible for providing leadership and direction to the nursing team, ensuring the implementation of quality care for patients while helping them restore good health and well-being. 

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Work alongside other matrons to coordinate all nursing staff duties and responsibilities 
  • Provide leadership and direction to the unit, ensuring the implementation of quality nursing care for patients.
  • Ensure discipline in the nursing department.
  • Establish and coordinate good working relationship with other departments to promote a culture of safety, quality and risk management.
  • Promote and imbibe in all nursing staff the need for proper, complete and accurate documentation in patients records.
  • Develop and implement initiatives to enhance patient experience, satisfaction and engagement.
  • Participate in recruitment, induction and training of nurses.
  • Enforce conformity with Standard Operating Procedures and policies/ adherence to quality standards.
  • Participate in departmental quality improvement project.

Job Qualifications

  • Post-Basic Qualification; (Midwifery, Perioperative Nursing etc.)
  • RN, BNSC 
  • Valid nursing practicing license.
  • Post-graduate qualification in Nursing, Public health etc. will be an added advantage
  • Nursing administration/Hospital management Diploma, an added advantage.
