Job Title: Legal Adviser

Location: Isheri North OPIC, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

  • The legal advisor Reports to: Head of Legal, Senior Partner, or Real Estate Director
  • Provide expert legal advice and guidance on real estate transactions, ensuring compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Transaction Management: Advise on and manage real estate transactions, including sales, purchases, leases, and financing.
  • Contract Review and Drafting: Review and draft contracts, agreements, and other legal documents related to real estate transactions.
  • Due Diligence_: Conduct due diligence on real estate transactions, including title searches, zoning analysis, and environmental assessments.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards, and identify and mitigate potential risks.
  • Client Advisory_: Provide expert legal advice and guidance to clients on real estate matters.
  • Negotiation and Dispute Resolution: Negotiate and resolve disputes related to real estate transactions.
  • Document Management_: Maintain and manage real estate documents, including deeds, titles, and contracts.

Required Skills:

  • Law Degree_: Bachelor's degree in Law (LL.B) or Juris Doctor (J.D.) with 4 - 5 years work experience.
  • Real Estate Law Knowledge: Expertise in real estate law, including property law, contract law, and land use regulations.
  • Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills_: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to navigate complex real estate transactions.
  • Communication and Negotiation Skills: Excellent communication and negotiation skills to advise clients and negotiate transactions.
  • Time Management and Organization: Strong time management and organizational skills to manage multiple transactions and deadlines.

Working Conditions:

  • Office Environment: Typically work in an office environment, with occasional travel to client sites or court appearances.
  • Fast-Paced and Dynamic: Work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, with multiple transactions and deadlines.

Certifications:

  • Nigerian Bar Association (NBA): Membership in the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) is required to practice law in Nigeria.
  • Real Estate Certification: Certification in real estate law, such as the Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) designation, is an added advantage.

Salary
N400,000 per month.
