Job Title: Interior Decorator
Location: Isheri North OPIC, Lagos
Reports to: Senior Interior Designer, Creative Director, or Homeowner / Client
Working Schedule: Mondays to Fridays; 8am - 5pm
Job Summary
- Create functional and aesthetically pleasing interior spaces that meet clients' needs and exceed their expectations.
- Interior Decorators select and specify furniture, fixtures, and materials to bring designs to life.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and Planning: Develop and implement interior design plans, considering factors like lighting, color, texture, and space planning.
- Client Consultation: Collaborate with clients to understand their needs, preferences, and budget constraints.
- Furniture and Material Selection: Choose and specify furniture, fixtures, and materials that meet design objectives and client requirements.
- Color Scheme and Lighting Design: Develop color schemes and lighting plans that enhance the ambiance and functionality of interior spaces.
- Budgeting and Cost Estimation: Establish and manage project budgets, ensuring cost-effective solutions that meet client expectations.
- Communication and Project Management: Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure timely project completion and quality control.
- Design Visualization: Create 2D and 3D design visualizations to communicate design concepts to clients and stakeholders.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design, Interior Decorating, architecture or a related field.
- Experience: 1 - 3 years of experience in interior design or decorating.
- Age range: 22 - 30
- Skills: Strong design, communication, and project management skills. Proficient in design software like AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Certifications: National Certification for Interior Designers (NCIDQ) or Certified Interior Decorator (CID) certification.
Working Conditions:
- Work Environment: Typically works in an office or design studio, with frequent visits to client sites, showrooms, and suppliers.
- Physical Demands: May require standing, walking, or sitting for extended periods, with occasional lifting or carrying of lightweight objects.
Salary
N200,000 monthly.
