Job Title: Human Resources (HR) Officer
Location: Lagos

Responsibilities
- Assist in the development, implementation, and optimization of HR policies, initiatives, and systems.
- Provide guidance and counsel on HR policies, procedures, and best practices to employees and management.
- Play an active role in the recruitment process by preparing job descriptions, posting job ads, screening candidates, and managing interview schedules.
- Create and implement comprehensive onboarding programs for new hires to ensure smooth integration into the company.
- Design and implement training and development initiatives to promote employee skills growth and organizational effectiveness.
- Assist in the performance management process, including setting objectives, conducting evaluations, and supporting feedback sessions.
- Support the resolution of disciplinary and grievance issues in alignment with company policies and legal guidelines.
- Maintain accurate employee records, including attendance, EEO data, and other critical HR documentation, ensuring compliance with legal and company requirements.
- Regularly assess and review employment conditions to ensure compliance with applicable labor laws and company standards.
- Foster a positive work environment and contribute to employee engagement initiatives.
- Assist in employee benefits administration, including health and wellness programs.
- Support HR metrics and reporting to analyze trends and recommend improvements.
- Stay informed on industry best practices, legal updates, and emerging HR technologies.
Requirements and Skills
- A B.Sc / BA Degree in Business Administration, Social Sciences, or a related field; further HR training or certifications are highly desirable.
- 2 - 4 years proven experience as an HR officer, administrator, or in a similar HR role.
- In-depth knowledge of HR functions, including but not limited to recruitment, compensation and benefits, training and development, performance management, and employee relations.
- Strong understanding of labor laws, employee rights, and disciplinary procedures.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); familiarity with HRMS software is a plus.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact confidently and professionally at all levels of the organization.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a proactive approach to challenges.
- High ethical standards and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- A strong commitment to maintaining a positive workplace culture and fostering employee satisfaction.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong sense of initiative.
Salary
N100,000 - N120,000 Monthly.
