Job Summary
- The Head of Finance Operations will oversee the financial operations of CIG Motors Company Limited, ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of financial processes.
- This role involves managing day-to-day financial activities, implementing financial policies, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
- The Head of Finance Operations will work closely with other departments to support financial planning, reporting, and decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Management:
- Oversee daily financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions.
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of financial transactions and reconciliations.
- Manage cash flow and ensure adequate liquidity for operational needs.
Financial Reporting:
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with IFRS.
- Conduct financial analysis and provide reports to senior management.
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data and reporting.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
- Monitor financial performance against budgets and provide variance analysis.
- Support strategic planning and decision-making with financial insights.
Compliance and Internal Controls:
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations, company policies, and accounting standards.
- Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial accuracy.
- Liaise with auditors and regulatory bodies during audits and inspections.
Process Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in financial operations.
- Automate and streamline financial processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Collaborate with IT to maintain and upgrade financial systems and tools.
Team Leadership:
- Lead, mentor, and develop the finance operations team.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and high performance.
- Ensure effective communication and collaboration within the finance team and with other departments.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CPA).
- Minimum of 12 years of experience in finance operations or a related role.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS and Nigerian financial regulations.
- Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., Sage 300, SAP).
- Advanced Excel skills and ability to analyze complex financial data.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
