Job Description
Responsibilities:
Coaching Program Development:
- Design and implement comprehensive coaching programs for our young players, aligned with the academy's overall vision and objectives.
- Develop and implement coaching curricula, session plans, and training schedules.
Coaching Staff Management:
- Manage and supervise a team of coaches, providing guidance, support, and feedback to ensure that they are equipped to deliver high-quality coaching sessions.
- Conduct regular coaching staff meetings to discuss coaching programs, player development, and other relevant matters.
Player Development:
- Oversee the development of our young players, ensuring that they receive the best possible coaching and support to achieve their full potential.
- Work closely with coaches, trainers, and other support staff to identify player strengths, weaknesses, and development needs.
Talent Identification and Recruitment:
- Work with the academy's scouting network to identify and recruit talented young players.
- Develop and maintain relationships with local clubs, schools, and other organizations to identify and recruit talented young players.
Competition and Fixture Management:
- Oversee the management of competitions and fixtures, ensuring that our teams are properly prepared and equipped to compete at the highest level.
- Work closely with coaches, trainers, and other support staff to ensure that our teams are properly prepared for competitions and fixtures.
Budgeting and Resource Management:
- Manage the coaching department's budget, ensuring that resources are allocated efficiently and effectively.
- Oversee the procurement of coaching equipment, facilities, and other resources.
Reporting and Evaluation:
- Provide regular reports to the Academy Director on coaching programs, player development, and other relevant matters.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of coaching programs and make recommendations for improvement.
Requirements:
- HND/BSc/MBA in Sports Science, Physical Education, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in coaching or coaching management, preferably in a football academy or professional football club.
- Coaching Qualifications e.g. UEFA A License or equivalent coaching qualification is an added advantage
- Excellent coaching, leadership, and management skills.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Passion for football and youth development.
- Strong work ethic and commitment to excellence.
- Ability to build strong relationships with players, coaches, and other stakeholders.
