Job Title: Furniture Production Manager

Job Summary

  • We are looking for an experienced Furniture Production Manager to Lead, and Manager the end-to-end production of world class furnitures and interior décor for our client in Lagos.
  • Preferred candidate must be willing to resume on Thursday, 2nd of January, 2025.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring that the production of manufacturing products starts and finishes within budget and on time.
  • They plan, schedule, coordinate and organize different production schedules and activities.
  • Checking the production is running smoothly and liaising with crew to check they have all the kit they need.
  • Manage the furniture production line to ensure that all orders are executed according to the clients’ requirements.
  • Responsible for the inventory and maintenance of all machinery and tools.
  • Responsible for the coordination of all raw materials (panels, screws, etc.).
  • Coordinate materials and manpower planning for production.
  • Plan and organize the maintenance of equipment.
  • Ensure production problems are investigated and resolved in record time.
  • Ensure that faulty equipment is repaired quickly and efficiently.
  • Organize plant start-up and shut-down schedules to ensure minimum loss of production time.
  • Plan and monitor furniture production at every stage of the manufacturing process.
  • Ensure that all furniture produced meets the company’s quality standards.
  • Troubleshoot design and/or manufacturing problems as they arise.
  • Responsible for optimizing the manufacturing process and developing and carrying out manufacturing and productivity improvement plans.
  • Overseeing the production process and drawing up a production schedule
  • Ensuring that the production is cost-effective and also updating and improving whenever and wherever possible.
  • Estimating costs and setting quality standards.
  • Being responsible for the selection and maintenance of equipment.
  • Monitoring product standards and implementing quality-control programs.
  • Supervise and handle all the job orders within the set time and operating budget.
  • Handle all the production team's needs, including job orders, work standards, process flow, and inspection reports.

Education, Qualification and Experience

  • B.Sc / B.Tech / M.Sc / M.Arch / M.Eng / HND in Furniture Manufacturing Design / Fine Arts / Interior Design or a related field
  • A furniture manufacturing designer professional certification advantageous.
  • 10+ years of interior design project management or furniture manufacturing.
  • Minimum of 10 years of Furniture manufacturing designing experience

Skills and Competencies:

  • Computer Skills: Microsoft Office; Adobe and AutoCAD a major plus.
  • Positive, upbeat personality with the ability to inspire and motivate staff in a team environment.
  • Must have strong work ethic, be highly organized, detail oriented, and proactive.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to exhibit diplomacy and use high level of discretion.
  • Ability to interact professionally with high-end clients, various vendors, and members of the production team.
  • Must love a fast-paced creative environment.
  • A passion for the home / furniture and the design / production process.
  • Technical drawing, familiar with symbols, perspectives, units of measurement, notation systems, visual styles, and page layout.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD or SolidWorks or any Other CADSoftware
  • Investigative mind inclined toward developing practical solutions to real-world problems.
