SEND is a digital freight forwarder and customs broker for Africa. We manage the entire process of shipping freight by air and ocean, including customs clearance and supply chain finance -using software to provide quotes, document management, cost transparency and control across your supply chain.
We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Financial Accountant

Description
We are looking for a Financial Accountant to oversee our finance operations, including:
- Treasury management (liquidity management, reconciliations);
- Accounting (monthly close, annual audits);
- Finance operations (vendor payments); and
- Managing relationships with financial partners (negotiations).
Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting: Preparing timely and accurate monthly management reports. Liaising with external auditors for annual audits.
- Treasury: Overseeing liquidity management, ensuring settlements are processed on time, and ensuring we have sufficient liquidity for daily operations. Handling financing (overdrafts, facilities, etc.). Reconciling financial transactions, managing exceptions, and reporting key treasury metrics. Maximizing interest revenue and minimizing costs.
- Finance Operations: Handling vendor payments and other financial processes.
- Payroll & Taxes: Coordinate payroll and manage PAYE and other taxes.
Requirements
- Candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree (or Higher) in Accounting or Finance
- Chartered/Qualified accountant (e.g. ICAN, ACCA, CFA, CPA, etc.)
- 5+ years of relevant experience in a mid-to-senior accounting or finance position within a technology or fast-paced environment.
- Expertise in IFRS accounting standards
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Comfortable handling ambiguity and working with minimal supervision.
- Experience with accounting software such as Quickbooks, Sage, etc.
- Experience in logistics and supply chain is a plus but not required.
