Corporate Sponsorship Manager


Job Description

Responsibilities:

Sponsorship Strategy & Development:

  • Formulate and implement a detailed sponsorship strategy that aligns with the objectives of the academy. 
  • Conduct thorough market analysis and evaluate industry trends to pinpoint potential sponsors. 
  • Establish and sustain a pipeline of prospective sponsors.  

 

Sponsorship Sales & Negotiation:

  • Identify and pursue new sponsorship opportunities with local, national, and international businesses as well as cultivate relationships with key decision-makers within potential sponsor organizations. 
  • Create and present customized sponsorship proposals and presentations. 
  • Negotiate and finalize sponsorship contracts. 
  • Oversee the renewal and enhancement of sponsorship agreements.

 

Sponsorship Activation & Management:

  • Work in conjunction with internal teams to deliver sponsorship benefits, including branding, hospitality, and content. 
  • Ensure the timely provision of sponsorship assets and comprehensive reporting. 
  • Administer sponsorship budgets and conduct ROI assessments. 
  • Ensure adherence to sponsorship contracts and regulations.

 

Relationship Building & Account Management:

  • Nurture robust relationships with current sponsors. 
  • Deliver outstanding customer service. 
  • Identify and explore new business opportunities.  


Marketing & Communications:

  • Collaborate with the marketing team to create sponsorship-related content. 
  • Partner on social media initiatives and event promotions.  

 

Reporting & Administration: 

  • Monitor and evaluate sponsorship revenue and return on investment. 
  • Maintain precise records and updates in the CRM system. 
  • Compile regular reports for senior management.  

 

Requirements:  

  • HND/BSc/MBA in any relevant program
  • Relevant Certification e.g. Certified Sponsorship Marketing (CSM), Certified Sports Executive (CSE), Certified Business Development Professional (CBDP) etc., is an added advantage
  • Candidates must have a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in sponsorship sales and management in an NGO, or any sports organization 
  • A strong understanding of the sports industry and the football landscape
  • Must have a track record of securing and managing corporate sponsorships. 
  • A network of contacts within the sports industry is an added advantage
  • Good leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills. 
  • Ability to thrive under pressure and meet deadlines. 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM software. 
  • Accurate report writing skill

 

KPI Targets:

  • Increase total sponsorship revenue by 20% year-over-year
  • Secure 3 new sponsors within the next 9 months
  • Maintain a 92% sponsor retention rate
  • Achieve a minimum ROI of 3.5:1 on sponsorship investments
  • Increase brand visibility by 25% through stadium branding
