Cilantro Restaurant is recruiting suitable candidates to fill the position below:
Job Title: Cashier
Location: Lagos
Responsibilities
- Accurately process all forms of payment, including cash, credit/debit cards, gift certificates, and checks.
- Ensure proper change is given for cash transactions and verify credit/debit card details when necessary.
- Use the point-of-sale (POS) system to record and close out guest checks.
- Greet guests in a polite and friendly manner as they approach the payment station.
- Answer any guest questions regarding their bill and address any concerns related to charges.
- Ensure that all payment transactions are handled efficiently and without delay, maintaining a professional and courteous demeanor.
- Review guest checks for accuracy, ensuring that all items and prices are correct before processing payment.
- Handle any discrepancies or adjustments in a professional manner, coordinating with the restaurant manager or servers as needed.
- Keep the cash drawer balanced at all times by following the restaurant’s cash handling procedures.
- Securely store cash and other payment methods as per restaurant guidelines.
- Provide exceptional service by ensuring that each guest’s experience is positive and their questions are answered clearly.
- Assist guests with any special requests regarding payment or billing inquiries.
- Maintain professionalism and calmness, even during busy periods.
- Maintain accurate records of transactions and ensure proper documentation of any voids or refunds.
- Assist in end-of-day cash-out procedures and balance receipts against POS data.
- Communicate effectively with servers, hosts, and management to ensure accurate billing and timely service.
- Relay guest feedback to the appropriate team members to enhance the guest experience.
- Adhere to restaurant policies, including those related to safety, hygiene, and food safety.
- Keep the cashier station tidy and organized at all times.
Requirements
- Candidates should possess an OND qualification with 2 - 4 years work experience.
