Job Description
- Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Bookkeeping Officer to manage and maintain financial records for various projects and operational activities.
- The ideal candidate will have a keen understanding of the construction and technology industries, as well as experience managing complex financial transactions.
Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for construction and PropTech operations, including invoices, payments, and project costs.
- Reconcile bank statements, project accounts, and other financial records to ensure accuracy.
- Monitor and record all transactions in compliance with industry standards and company policies.
- Process vendor payments and ensure timely disbursement.
- Prepare and send invoices to clients, track receivables, and follow up on overdue payments.
- Maintain records of project expenses and ensure timely approvals.
- Track and manage project budgets, ensuring alignment with financial projections.
- Monitor cost variances and provide regular reports on project financials.
- Collaborate with project managers to allocate costs accurately to ongoing projects.
- Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Provide insights into financial performance, including profitability by project or service line.
- Support management with data for strategic planning and decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with Nigerian tax laws, including VAT, WHT, and PAYE.
- Liaise with tax authorities and external auditors as required.
- File necessary regulatory and statutory financial reports in a timely manner.
- Use accounting software to automate and optimize bookkeeping tasks.
- Assist in setting up financial systems and controls for new projects or business lines.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 3+ years of bookkeeping experience, preferably in construction, real estate, or PropTech industries.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or Zoho Books) and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong understanding of project accounting principles and cost allocation methods.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Familiarity with Nigerian financial and regulatory standards.
- Experience with construction project management tools.
- Knowledge of PropTech solutions and their financial implications.
- Advanced reporting and analytical skills.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, including legal, procurement, and operations.
Remuneration
- Salary: N200,000 / month.
