Why are Federal Government jobs so highly sought after? The reason is that they offer several mouth-watering employee benefits, you get to use all your annual leave, and you have job security. When compared to working in a private establishment, the benefits of working in civil service are endless. However, landing a job in civil service is not as easy as searching for them on job boards and applying with an impressive resume. For federal government recruitment, you have to apply directly to the website and may be required to partake in some form of assessment such as a quiz or a test in addition to uploading your qualifications. This article is structured to walk you through the whole process because Federal Government recruitment is currently ongoing for some ministries, and we don’t want you to miss out!
The Requirements for the 2022 Federal Government Recruitment Include:
- A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in a course relevant to the ministry you are applying to.
- A Secondary School Certificate of Examination (SSCE) showcasing at least 5 credit grades in key subjects, English and Mathematics included. The SSCE result may be WASSCE (West African Secondary School Certificate of Examination), or NECO (National Examination Council) result.
- National Identification Number (NIN), and/or Driver’s License.
- A copy of your birth certificate, or age declaration.
- A copy of a certificate of identification from your local government of origin.
- Two recent passport photographs.
The federal government does not recruit candidates who only possess an SSCE result regardless of how impressive it may be. A commendable SSCE result should be backed up with a B.SC, B.A, HND, NCE, or an OND degree. The date for the commencement and closing of the general federal government recruitment has not been specified yet, however, some of the agencies like the Nigerian Customs Service (NCS) are said to begin recruitment by 13th December 2022. Although the date is still a bit far, the Nigerian Customs Service forms are available on the agency’s portal, and interested and eligible candidates can begin submissions of their applications.
Requirements for the NCS 2022 Recruitment Include:
- A Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent HND from an accredited tertiary institution, in a relevant course.
- A WASSCE result where you obtained at least 5 credits in core subjects including Mathematics and English language.
- Proof of participation in the Nigerian Youth Service Corps. An NYSC discharge certificate or exemption letter will do just fine.
- A valid birth certificate.
The NCS application form is only on sale for a limited period, interested candidates are encouraged to get theirs as soon as possible. There are no charges attached to the recruitment process, and the form can be obtained online from the portal at www.vacancy.customs.gov.ng.
